Introduction
The project is largely focus on field recording of sounds within an identified area. In the case of this project, Bako national park would be the area for the field recordings. The approach would be to identify the location, and to record sounds with high definition audio as well as visual whenever possible. The location where the audio and visual were recorded would be marked through Global Positioning System (GPS), and marked on the area mapped.
Project Objective
Sound are one of the neglected elements where tourists can feel to "sense" the soundscape of a tourist destination. Sound can form a critical role in allowing tourist to anticipate a pre-visit destination. The concept of appreciation on soundscape of a location, may allow us to share new perspectives on sound environment, in the context of adding value to our eco-tourism industry, through the notion of nature and sound from the stand point of tourism industry.
